The 15th Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show 'Vision'
Filled with life and the energy of spring, ‘Vision’ showcases the charm of fashion. Raffles Design Institute, Shanghai proudly presents its 15th Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show on April 15 and 16, 2010, in the Multi-purpose Hall on the 9th floor of Shanghai Super Brand Mall to surge a fashionable trend of new times.
Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show is historically one of the regular events of the institute. This event comes across its 15th anniversary reflecting a more far-sighted significance. ‘Vision’ suggests the will and expectation for the future, not only as Raffles Shanghai affirms a higher expectation to itself on its 15th anniversary, but also as Raffles envisions a bright future for its graduates as they begin their career.
Many of our graduates have successfully started working in famous local and international enterprises including Emporio Armani, Max Mara, ZARA, Colored Glaze Workshop, Dong Hai Securities etc. Some graduates are ready to go abroad to pursue their master degree in the first-class design institutes in UK, USA, Italy and Frances. Therefore, ‘Vision’ suggests the best wishes from all the Raffles staff to our graduates.
More than 730 graduates in 2009 from Fashion Design, Interior Design, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Fashion Marketing and Business Administration will exhibit their ‘Vision’ theme-based works and presentations from their professional prospective. Novel works like ‘The Five Chinese Elements’, ‘The Transmigration of Library’ and ‘The Cave of the City’ from Interior Design break through our traditional spatial imagination; graphic design work such as ‘The Journey of Carbon Objectivity’ embodies unique ideas and the multimedia work ‘The Last Mysterious Land’ has a vivid topic. All the works reflect our students’ ingenuity and originality.

The fashion show on the runway presented by Fashion Design will certainly draw most audience’s attention. Models wear fresh and fashionable clothes to display and interpret the imaginative story ‘Metamorphosis’, the mysterious culture ‘Maya’, ‘The Mystery of Egypt’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and the distinctive ‘Bushido Fighters’. With students’ refreshing design, this show is featured with freshness, originality, and even bravery. The winner of The Best Work Award of this, the ‘Vision’ Fashion Show, will win £2000 scholarship provided by The University of Lincoln UK and the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree there.
At this 15th Graduation Exhibition, as one of our important features to cultivate excellent young talents, we will also showcase our collaborative work with enterprises; i.e., the uniform design project for Hotel Indigo under Intercontinental Hotels Group which is the biggest global hotel group and the overall clothing style project for Expo 2010’s Shanghai Exhibition Hall. As quoted by Dr. Wang Hao Qing, the Design Director of the Shanghai Exhibition Hall, students from Raffles Shanghai are the youngest design team for Expo 2010’s clothing. Through practice in such an important design project, these young designers are set to become the outstanding talent of innovative design in the near future.
